Lenny Kravitz and Slash - Always on the Run

My mama said
That your life is a gift
And my mama said
There's much weight you will lift
And my mama said
Leave those bad boys alone
And my mama said
Be home before the dawn
And my mama said
You can be rich or poor
But my mama said
You can be big or small

But I'm always on the run,
Always on the run,
But I'm always on the run.

My mama said
That it's good to be fruitful
But my mama said
Don't take more than a mouthful
And my mama said
That it's good to be natural
And my mama said
That it's good to be factual

But I'm always on the run,
Always on the run,
But I'm always on the run.

My mama said
Baby don't ride that crazy horse
And my mama said
You must push with much force
And my mama said
Go get all that you're after
And my mama said
That love's all that matters

But I'm always on the run,
Always on the run,
But I'm always on the run ( on the run )

But I'm always on the run,
Always on the run,
But I'm always on the run.

Hmm, what say mama, you want it
Hmm, right now, got to hold on, yeah !.

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Dani California

The music video for "Dani California" premiered on MTV on April 4, 2006. Directed by Tony Kaye, acclaimed director of American History X, the video is a quasi-chronology of the evolution of rock music; the band performs the song on a stage, but in a variety of outfits representing important figures and movements in the history of rock music.

However, in the June 2006 issue of UK Classic Rock magazine, Flea was quoted as saying, "We mainly did eras, not actual people: rockabilly, British Invasion, psychedelia, funk, glam, punk, goth, hair metal, grunge, and ourselves being the sum of all those parts". The clip finishes with the Red Hot Chili Peppers as themselves again, with flashbacks to the imitated artists featured earlier in the film.

In one of the video's scenes, the Chili Peppers are featured in a scene alluding to Nirvana's famous 1993 MTV Unplugged performance (MTV Unplugged in New York). During the scene, Anthony Kiedis, dressed as Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, recites the lyrics "...gone too fast..." as the screen pans to a candle which is snuffed out. This is likely a tribute to Cobain, who died shortly after the Unplugged sessions were recorded, and also a close friend of Kiedis (the Red Hot Chili Pepper's song "Tearjerker" was written in Cobain's memory).

"FIX"

BLACKSTREET
"FIX" VIDEO FROM THE ALBUM "ANOTHER LEVEL"
Interscope - 1997

The great Teddy Riley approached SLASH about helping out with a remix for his Blackstreet band. The song was called "Fix". SLASH worked on the remix, and it was great! A video was put together which has a great story line featuring SLASH living in an apartment building on the top floor with all kinds of different people living below this guy who practices his guitar at an astounding level! It's just a super video, and it won the MTV Europe Video Award for best R&B music video.

I initially started this blog to organize some playlists for myself, but have just been dumping individual songs here instead. The sweet child of mine solo led me to this blast from my MTV past and i have been inspired to start work on a "SLASH" playlist. It shall be entitled "BACK/SLASH" and god willing will be my first mix tape in 15years emblazoned with the immortal scrawl of "DONT TAPE OVER"

Guns N Roses - Sweet Child O' Mine

A song that reminds me how much i love my beautiful girlfriend.... Fleur baby, your the solo!!

The Sweet Child O' Mine video depicts the band rehearsing in an abandoned theatre, surrounded by crew members. Several of the band members' girlfriends were shown in the clip. The video was extremely successful on MTV, and helped launch the song to success on mainstream radio.

In an effort to make Sweet Child more marketable to MTV and radio stations, the song was cut from 5:56 minutes to 4:20, with much of Slash's guitar solo removed. This move drew the ire of the band members, including Axl Rose, who commented on it in a 1989 interview with Rolling Stone: "I hate the edit of "Sweet Child O' Mine." Radio stations said, "Well, your vocals aren't cut." My favorite part of the song is Slash's slow solo; it's the heaviest part for me. There's no reason for it to be missing except to create more space for commercials, so the radio-station owners can get more advertising dollars. When you get the chopped version of "Paradise City" or half of "Sweet Child" and "Patience" cut, you're getting screwed."[2]

On an interview on Eddie Trunk's New York radio show in May 2006, Axl Rose stated that his original concept for the video focused on the theme of drug trafficking. According to Rose, the video was to depict an Asian woman carrying a baby into a foreign land, only to discover at the end that the child was dead and filled with heroin. This concept was rejected by Geffen.

Evanescence - Call me when your sober (Lyrics)

Don't cry to me.
If you loved me, you would be here with me.
You want me, come find me.
Make up your mind.

Should've let you fall,
Lose it all,
So maybe you can remember yourself.

Can't keep believing,
We're only deceiving ourselves,
And I'm sick of the lies,
And you're too late.

Don't cry to me.
If you loved me, you would be here with me.
You want me, come find me.
Make up your mind.

Couldn't take the blame,
Sick with shame.
Must be exhausting to lose your own game.
Selfishly hated,
No wonder you're jaded,
You can't play the victim this time.
And you're too late.

So, don't cry to me.
If you loved me, you would be here with me.
You love me, come find me.
Make up your mind.

You never call me when you're sober,
You only want it 'cause it's over - it's over.

How could I have burned paradise.
How could I, you were never mine?

So, don't cry to me.
If you loved me, you would be here with me.
Don't lie to me, just get your things.
I've made up your mind.
